[The thing I remember most about this book almost 4 years later is that her armor was pink. PINK! How awesome is that?]

Book: Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine

This was a re-read. I always enjoy reading this book, but I think that the character of Ella always seems really young to me.

I do love Char though.

January Book #3

Book: Magic or Madness by Justine Larbalestier

The first in a trilogy, this book sets up the "rules" of the magic in this world. Very interesting, although  I thought the characters were rather 2-dimensional in some places. I will definitely read the rest of the series (when I'm done with my school books).

Book: Briar Rose by Jane Yolen

A beautifully rendered re-imagining of the Sleeping Beauty story in a World War II setting.

Book: The Door in the Wall by Marguerite de Angeli

A very old book that won the Newberry (it might have been the first winner). A very cute innocuous tale about triumphing no matter what your physical limitations are.

Book: Because of Winn-Dixie by Kate DiCamillo

A sweet, quick read that reminded me a lot of Bo.

I really love this author's style. I will definitely go pick up more books by her. Tale of Despereaux is already a favorite.

Book: Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie

This was another book I had to read for Seton Hill. I fully planned not to enjoy it, but it was really good! I couldn't put it down!

I sort of get annoyed with leading women who hate their bodies though. It gets old fast.
