Book: The Outlaws of Sherwood by Robin McKinley
A little slow-going, but overall I really liked it. It gave me a lot of ideas for my own Robin Hood story.

June Book #2
Book: Ever by Gail Carson Levine
A definite stylistic departure from her previous books. It took me a bit to get used to it. Once I did, however, I was enthralled by the story.
Very beautiful.

June Book #1
Book: The Dark of the Woods edited by Ellen Datlow and Terri Windling
A series of short stories written by varying authors, I found each story a new adventure. They re-made the classic fairy tales into something more modern. Most were creative and wonderful, but I was VERY disappointed in the one about the 12 Dancing Princesses.

May Book #1
Book: Operating Instructions: A Journal of My Son's First Year by Anne Lamott
This book was wonderful. Beautifully written. It made me feel less alone in all this baby craziness. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who has wild, incoherent fears for my son.
I will recommend this book to Clarissa for sure.

April Book #2
Book: Plot and Structure by James Scott Bell
Another required book for school, but it really laid bare some of the major flaws in my writing.

Required reading for school, but led to a lot of great ideas for my writing.

March Book #1
Book: Igraine the Brave by Cornelia Funke
Very cute middle grade novel about a young girl who wants to be a knight.
[The thing I remember most about this book almost 4 years later is that her armor was pink. PINK! How awesome is that?]
